416 Fire evacuations expand and more: 5 Things to Know for Thursday, June 7

Good morning. Here are 5 Things to Know for Thursday, June 7, 2018.

1. More evacuations near 416 Fire
La Plata County officials will be going door to door starting at 6 a.m. to notify residents in the Hermosa area that they need to leave their homes due to the 416 Fire. The evacuations area stretches north from Cometti/Mead Lane to the intersection of County Road 250C and U.S. Highway 550.

2. Victim of FBI agent shooting speaks to GMA
Tom Reddington, 24, was shot in the leg at Mile High Spirits and Distillery early Saturday morning when a gun belonging to FBI agent Chase Bishop, 29, fell from his waistband and accidentally fired. Reddington told ABC News that he initially did not realize he had been shot. He thought someone had set off firecrackers in the crowd.  Watch the full interview on Good Morning America at 7 a.m.

3. Death toll rises in Guatemala
Nearly 100 people are dead and 200 still missing following the eruption of the Fuego volcano in Guatemala. Rescue crews had to pause their searches for survivors due to rain and fear of mudslides.

4. Meeting to discuss guns in schools
Tonight, the St. Vrain School District is seeking input from parents and students on the Boulder County Sheriff's Office's plan to put AR-15 rifles in locked safes inside schools. Parents were divided at a meeting earlier this week. The meeting is being held at Sunset Middle School in Longmont.

5. Hot, dry weather continues
The overall weather pattern will not change much from today through the weekend. Highs will be in the 90s for Denver and the eastern plains. Mountain areas will be in the 80s by day and drop to the 40s overnight.
