Posted

Two people have been indicted in an alleged robbery scheme in the town of Gypsum at the beginning of the month.

Jesus Manuel Miranda, 31, of Dostero, has been indicted on 9 criminal counts, including conspiracy to rob two businesses in Eagle County, Tienda Montes and Dinero Rapido, on September 4 while displaying a nine-millimeter handgun, as well as Attempted Second degree Murder. That's according to a spokesperson with the Fifth Judicial District Attorney's Office.

Kirsten Mascarenas, 17, is also charged in the robbery conspiracies in the twelve criminal counts she faces, the spokesperson said.

Deputies said there was an altercation between the suspects in the armed robbery and another person. That person was shot. There is no word on the victim's condition.

The District Attorney's Office spokesperson said Miranda could receive a prison sentence of more than 100 years if he's convicted on all charges.

Gypsum is a small town of some 6,500 people between Eagle and Dotsero.
