ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Two men who drowned at a Colorado reservoir have been identified.
The Aspen Times reports Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis identified the victims Sunday night as John Teague and James "Bret" Varra.
The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office says the 46-year-old Teague died Saturday after jumping into the water at the Ruedi Reservoir to help the 59-year-old Varra, who was having difficulty in the water. Both men lived in Carbondale.
Bettis says no other information will be released until the autopsies are finished. She says those should be completed this week.
Authorities say two boats were tied together away from the shore when one man, Varra, went swimming and struggled. That's when Teague jumped in.
