LOMA, Colo. — A 10-month-old drowned in a puddle in Loma on Sunday, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
On Tuesday morning, the coroner’s office said Toya Sharp was found in a puddle Sunday. The 10-month-old boy was flown to a local hospital, where he passed away.
According to the coroner’s office, staff are working to complete a few more tests, but the baby appears to have died from accidental drowning. The coroner said they have not found anything suspicious about the death.
Mesa County Sheriff's Office is overseeing the investigation.
Loma is a small unincorporated community and census-designated place in Mesa County. The 2010 Census found it had a population of 1,293.
No other information was available as of noon Tuesday.
