A pedestrian died Saturday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross South Parker Road near the Interstate 225 off ramp in Aurora, an official with the Colorado State Patrol confirmed with 7NEWS.
A woman driving a 2015 Nissan SUV was going south on Parker Road near I-225 when she hit a 58-year-old man who was crossing the street outside the crosswalk, according to CSP Trooper Scott Reid.
The woman had the green light and did not see the pedestrian, Reid added.
The woman did stay on the scene following the accident. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, CSP officials tweeted.
Two lanes of traffic on southbound South Parker Road were shut down for two hours following the fatal crash.
