2 dead after motorcycle, truck crash in Frederick

FREDERICK, Colo. — A father and daughter from Evans are dead after a crash involving their motorcycle and a truck in the Town of Frederick Tuesday.

The town originally confirmed one person died in the crash that happened on Colorado Boulevard near the Bella Rosa Golf Course around 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Weld County Coroner's Office confirmed both Michael Scott Sluman, 54, and his daughter, Riley Mae Sluman, 24, died in the crash.

The coroner's office said Riley Sluman, died at the scene and Michael Scott Sluman, who was operating the motorcyle, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neither were wearing helmets, according to the coroner's office.

An additional person was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The accident is being investigated as a possible alcohol-related incident.

Colorado Boulevard was closed in both directions between Godding Hollow Boulevard and Pine Cone Avenue for several hours.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
