DENVER – Two people are dead following a car crash on Highway 287 in Boulder County Monday morning.
The crash occurred near the intersection with Arapahoe Road at about 5:30 a.m.
Two people died in the crash, a 40-year-old woman who was driving, and her 44-year-old male passenger, according to Colorado State Patrol. Both were from Thornton, though their identities have not been released.
The 56-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered serious injuries, according to CSP Trooper Josh Lewis.
The highway was closed in both directions following the crash but the northbound lanes of Highway 287 had reopened as of 6:30 a.m.
