BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Whether you're experienced with the outdoors or just starting to explore it, it's time to round up your heartiest road warriors.

You're in good company this week with a vacation outfitter turning your next car rental into an overland adventure.

Travis Titus wants to make it easy for you to enjoy the outdoors.

"I grew up here in Colorado," Titus said. "I was hunting, fishing and camping with my family. How do I help spread that to other people?"

So, he started Titus Adventure Company, a car rental business on the surface but complete with everything you'd need for a care-free excursion.

"Rooftop tents, sleeping bag, cook stuff, coolers, you name it," Titus said. "We've got fun things like portable toilet seats. We've got portable showers. We've got a portable fire pit. Down to the Chapstick in the car, the hand sanitizer, the sunscreen. We've got topographical maps of the entire state."

They pack all the equipment into their fleet of four-wheel drive SUV's, outfitted with off-road tires, steel plating and a lift to handle the most rugged terrain.

"We had people go all the way up to Glacier National Park in Montana," Titus said. "We had a family camp for 14 nights in Yellowstone (National Park) in one of our vehicles."

Their signature gear is a rooftop tent for overland camping and an awning for shade and shelter that's simple to setup and stow.

"These vehicles let you go to places the RVs can't," Titus said. "It's sort of that more remote experience."

They can switch out the tent for a ski rack and cargo box in the winter.

They can even drop pins to your phone and help plan your trip into America's wilderness.

"All the way up to, creating a custom itinerary," Titus said. "We did some 10-day trips where we planned everybody's day. Do hikes here, camp here, take these scenic drives."

The goal of the company, also, is to reduce carbon emissions.

And sharing time in his fully-kitted vehicles means you don't need one driving around the city.

"You don't need to have one of these big vehicles all the time," Titus said. "But, you're living in Colorado because you want to go explore. So, we have these right here for you."

Just show up with your suitcase, and you're off on a one-of-a-kind vacation down a road less traveled where you can finally leave the worries behind.

Titus Adventure Company provides you with a binder on operating all the equipment and an orientation on the vehicle before you go.

They also deliver to Denver metro area customers so they can leave their personal vehicle at home.
