WESTMINSTER, Colo. – Westminster Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that may have stemmed from a domestic violence dispute early Saturday morning.
It all started after officers received a 911 call from a home in the area of 85th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard reporting a disturbance at around 3:45 a.m.
When police arrived at the home a few minutes later, they found a dead woman with a gunshot wound and a man dead from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police are not sure who fired the shots, but believe one of them called police before shots rang out.
“The situation appears to be domestic violence related and we do not believe there is any danger to the public,” said Westminster PD investigator Kate Kazell.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
