WELD COUNTY, Colo. -- Authorities are investigating an oil well spill in Weld County.
The Anadarko well, near County Roads 18 and 41 near Hudson, spilled oil and water last Friday, according to a report filed with the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.
Crews added an additional valve on the wellhead to stop the spill.
"The volume of the release is still being investigated," the report said.
Officials said at least five barrels spilled.
"Assessment and cleanup activities are ongoing at the site," the report said.
Soil samples were taken from the spill area for evaluation.
