THORNTON, Colo. -- Thornton Police have called off the active search for a robbery suspect.

The search started in the area of 88th Avenue and Grant Street after a woman said she was robbed at gunpoint at a nearby Motel 6 at about 8 a.m.

Two suspects fled on foot after the robbery.

One suspect was arrested, police said. The second suspect got away. He's described as a black man who is approximately 5'9" tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Thornton Police said the man apparently removed a grey shirt he was wearing.

Witnesses told police the man was bleeding and appeared to have an injury to his forehead, or the side of his face, as if he had fallen at some point.

North Suburban Medical Center and other businesses went on lockdown while police searched for the man. The lockdowns were lifted after about two hours.
