Fifth wheel trailer explodes in Weld County near Frederick, 2 men injured

WELD COUNTY, Colo. -- Two men are being treated at a hospital after a fifth wheel trailer exploded in Weld County Monday evening.

The explosion was reported at 8:11 p.m. in the 7800 block of Weld County Road 21, near the town of Frederick. 

When deputies arrived, they found the fifth wheel trailer was fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office. 

"Preliminary information suggests that this explosion was not on a gas or oil site," a statement from the sheriff's office reads. 

Two men — ages 20 and 70 — were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both are listed as stable but their injuries are unknown at this time, the sheriff's office said.
