Scandal at Greeley West: Principals to resign

Posted

Greeley West High School Principal Shelli Robins and Assistant Principal John Diebold will not return to Greeley West or Greeley-Evans School District 6 next year.

District 6 Superintendent Deirdre Pilch during a staff meeting at Greeley West on Thursday morning told teachers the pair would agree to resign, effective June 30, for their role in a three-year scandal involving parent surveys.

In an email to teachers, which Acting Principal Jeff Cranson was to read over the school's intercom, Pilch said Robins and Diebold had conspired to fill out parent surveys in 2014, 2015 and this year. Robins also ordered some Greeley West teachers to fill out parent surveys, according to Pilch's letter.

"These are very serious actions," Pilch's email read in part. "The results of these parent surveys are reported annually to our Board of Education and our community at large."

District 6 spokeswoman Theresa Myers confirmed Greeley West secretary Jessica Lutz has agreed to resign connection with the district's investigation. Myers said negotiations are ongoing with Robins and Diebold.
