Two people died Friday after a motorcycle crashed into a semi on Highway 85 near Fort Lupton, police told 7NEWS.
The motorcycle was going north on Highway 85, possibly at a high rate of speed, when it hit the right front part of the hood of the semi, which was crossing Weld County Road 18 at the same time, said Ft. Lupton Chief of Police Ken Poncelow.
The Fort Lupton Fire Protection District tweeted the accident forced the closure of the highway in both directions.
Highway 85 at Weld County Road 18 is closed in both directions due a traffic accident. Traffic is being diverted at CR 22 and CR 16.
