Young man killed in single vehicle crash in Fort Collins early Saturday

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A man in his early 20s was killed after his car went off the side of the road and collided with a guard rail in south Fort Collins early Saturday morning.

Investigators with Fort Collins Police Services say a 22-year-old man was driving south on South College Ave. at around 2:05 a.m. when he went off the east side of the road near Victoria Drive, colliding with the guard rail.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the department said the Larimer County Coroner will release the man’s identity once family is notified.

Officers are investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the deadly crash.

The intersection and surrounding roadways were closed for approximately six hours while officers processed the scene.
