DENVER -- A woman crossing the street was hit and killed in east Denver on Thursday.
Denver Police said the woman was crossing Alameda Avenue, near the Lowry neighborhood and Windsor Gardens condo complex, at about 7:30 a.m. when she was hit.
"It appears that the pedestrian was crossing outside the crosswalk when she was struck," Denver Police spokeswoman Christine Downs said.
The driver remained at the scene.
Police said the victim appeared to be in her 30s.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to call traffic Investigations at 720-337-1000.
