Denver has a light parade, fireworks and unique concerts:

Now-Jan. 13 -- Denver City & County bells

Have you ever heard the tower bells at Denver's City & County building?

There are 10 bells in the carillon and volunteers are scheduled to play at 5:55 p.m. on Nov. 30, Dec. 1, Dec. 4, Dec. 6-11, Dec. 13-18, Dec. 20, Dec. 22-Jan.1, Jan. 3-8, Jan. 10-13.

Because the bells are played by volunteers, this schedule is subject to change.

December 2 & 3 -- Parade of Lights

This is the 42nd year for theParade of Lights in downtown Denver.

Along the two mile parade route, visitors will see marching bands, floats and Santa.

The parade is held two nights -- Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. It's free to watch along the parade route.

December 6 -- Pipe organ concert

Trinity United Methodist Church will host an advent organ recital featuring Christmas music on the historic Roosevelt organ on December 6.

The 1880s organ has 4,275 pipes in 82 ranks.

The concert is 12:15-12:45 p.m. The recital is free and no tickets are required, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

December 18 -- Tuba Christmas

Dozens of tuba players will come together on Sunday, December 18 for a Tuba Christmas show at Skyline Park at 17th and Arapahoe in downtown Denver.

The concert is at 1 p.m. and it's free. (The concert is one block from the ice skating rink.)

Tuba Christmas shows are also planned in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Fort Collins and Pueblo.

December 31 -- New Year's Eve fireworks

Denver will once again offer a free fireworks showat 9 p.m. and midnight on New Year's Eve on the 16th Street Mall.

Both shows are the same and the fireworks are lit from two locations along the mall.

Viewing is free along the 16th Street Mall.
