DENVER -- A pedestrian was hit crossing a Denver street Monday morning.

The pedestrian was hit near 50th Avenue and Federal Boulevard around 5 a.m.

Denver police told Denver7 the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car stopped and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
