Friends and family of a man who died after a night out at a a Westminster bar, held a memorial ride to raise money for his funeral.

Sam Pickel died last Tuesday morning when he was removed from life support. Friends said he was hospitalized after he was put in a chokehold by a bouncer at Lodo's Bar and Grill in Westminster.

On Sunday, hundreds of people met outside Sports Authority Field to ride in the 23-year-old's honor.

"It chills the bones. He had some much love and support," said Josh Swarts, Pickel's friend.

Pickel had just bought a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Swarts was towing the bike on a trailer through the ride. Many people had American flags displayed in honor of Pickel.

Stickers and balloons were being sold to raise money for Pickel's funeral. The balloons were released into the sky before the ride began.

"It's almost like a relief, releasing the sadness out of our souls and releasing his soul into heaven," Swarts said.

So far, no charges or arrests have been made in Pickel's death.
