DENVER -- 16 students at Cherry Creek Schools earned a perfect score on the ACT exam this year.
"Less than one-tenth of one percent of all students who take the ACT earns a perfect score," Cherry Creek Schools said on its website.
Less than 2,000 students across the country earned a perfect score. In Colorado, 62 students earned a perfect 36.
The Cherry Creek students are:

- Alexander Martin – Overland High School
- Garrett Maus – Grandview High School
- Danish Mohammed – Grandview High School
- Kendra Neumann – Cherry Creek High School
- Diem Nguyen - Grandview High School
- Sarah Shapard – Overland High School
- Sean Smith – Cherry Creek High School
- Andrew Starr - Grandview High School
- Avi Swartz – Cherry Creek High School
- Nyle Sykes – Cherry Creek High School
- Abigail Weeks – Cherry Creek High School
- Andrew Ying – Cherry Creek High School
"These students have accomplished something both rare and impressive,” said Dr. Harry Bull, superintendent of Cherry Creek Schools.
All Colorado juniors were required to take the ACT test this year. However, the state is transitioning to the SAT college entrance exam in 2017.
