CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- Students will be drinking bottled water at a school in Centennial after higher-than-acceptable levels of lead were found in the school's water.
The lead was found during testing at Creekside Elementary School in Centennial during the school's fall break.
Cherry Creek Schools sent a letter to parents that said the district replaced all of the faucets in the building.
However, additional testing showed unacceptable levels at nine sinks, the district told parents.
"The district immediately shut off the water to all classroom sinks, drinking faucets (which were already disabled) and drinking fountains (which did not show any elevated levels)," district officials said.
Officials said while they continue to investigate the source of the lead, students will be given bottled water for drinking.
The testing was conducted because of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, officials said.
