Despite multiple gunshots, a teenager is expected to survived, according to Aurora Police.
Our partners at the Aurora Sentinel are reporting that a 16-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon. Aurora police did not release the victim's age. Officers did say the juvenile victim has non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting happened around 1:40 p.m on E. Parklane Drive, near Peoria Street and 30th Avenue.
Police arrived to find the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe he knows the suspects.
Bullet holes are now in a window at a home at Scranton and 30th, as well as the window of a truck that was parked nearby.
Three nearby schools were locked down after the shooting.
Park Lane Elementary School, Paris Elementary School and North Middle School were operating as normal again by 3:30.
Aurora Police said a manhunt was underway in the area but they began clearing the scene around the same time.
7NEWS photojournalist Isaac Blancas spotted officers scouring the area with metal detectors. They have not said if they gathered any suspect information.
