ARVADA, Colo. -- A peeping Tom who was caught looking into a teen girl's window in Arvada was arrested Friday, the Arvada Police Department said.
"After the Arvada Police released surveillance video of a peeping Tom, thousands of people shared the video footage and within 24 hours, a suspect was identified," said Jill McGranaham, a spokesperson for the police department.
The 17-year-old girl’s father called officers to the home in the 17000 block of West 87th Avenue to review the video, which showed the middle-aged man repeatedly looking into a window at the front of the house.
Police then shared the video with local news organizations, who shared the news with millions of viewers.
“We are grateful that so many people shared the video footage and because of that, the suspect was quickly identified,” said Commander Michelle Moriarty of the Arvada Police Department. “When the community comes together like they did in this instance, it helps ensure the continued safety of our City. Thank you.”
More information about the suspect and his arrest will be released as the investigation develops, McGranaham said.
