ARVADA, Colo. — A small chapel in Arvada celebrated Valentine's Day by celebrating weddings, for free, all day long.

“It’s not a courthouse, it’s not a hallway, it’s not a desk in front of a clerk. We wanted something more intimate, more romantic,” Rev. Sam Lopez of the Amazing Love Wedding Chapel told Denver7.

Rev. Lopez and Rev. Jessie Bhakti said they planned on performing a dozen or so weddings, elopements, or “micro-weddings” over the course of February 14, doing all of them at no charge to the couple.

“Nothing out of their pockets. We’re all just here because we want to celebrate love,” Rev. Bhakti said.

Alex and Abigail were one of the couples that chose Amazing Love to celebrate their big day.

“We’d been meaning to (get married) but were never sure when. Why not today?” Alex said.

Their ceremony lasted only a few minutes, said their ‘I do’s’ in front of only a handful of family and friends, and signed their marriage license.

“They’re married just like any couple that spent thousands of dollars,” Rev. Lopez said.

“As long as they feel their love is honored as we sign that paperwork, as we say those words — I feel like that’s all that really matters,” Rev. Bhakti added.
