UPDATE (10:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 13): The Commerce City Police Department said in a news release Wednesday that it "inadvertently reported" that the woman had died.
"This information was incorrect. Due to the grave nature of the victim's wounds and the expedited need for treatment, initial information indicated the victim had died. Tremendous effort by medical staff resulted in the victim's stabilization. The victim's injuries remain extremely critical, but she is still alive at this time," the police department said in the release.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Police in Commerce City are investigating the city's fifth homicide of 2022 after a woman was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound early Tuesday morning.
The victim was found around 1 a.m. in the 7000 Block of Grape Street. Officers responded to the area following a report of an unresponsive person.
The woman was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
No arrests were made. Suspect information was not released.
