Shot fired during attempted robbery at University of Denver

DENVER-- A shot was fired during an attempted armed robbery on Tuesday night, but no one was hurt, the University of Denver said.

The crime happened at York Street and Asbury Avenue around 9:45 p.m.

University officials sent a campus alert that told students to "remain indoors and avoid travel until further notice. If outside, seek safety in the nearest building."

DU officials later sent an all clear.

"There is no longer a threat to the DU community," the second message to students said.

The suspects were two black men, about 5'8" tall in dark clothing, according to the University of Denver.

The shot that was fired, was fired into the ground, authorities said.
