BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Police on Tuesday announced that a suspect had been arrested for investigation on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a person found inside a Broomfield home last week.

Nicholas Licata, 33, had his first advisement hearing Tuesday in a 17th Judicial District courtroom and is expected to be formally charged in the case at an advisement hearing scheduled for Friday.

Licata is being held without bond pending his next court hearing.

A police spokesperson told Denver7 on Monday that documents in the case are sealed for the time being, and the victim in the case has not been identified.

The district attorney’s office said Tuesday afternoon it did not have the case yet, so no mug shot or affidavit were immediately available.

Police discovered the person dead at the home in the 100 block of Agate Way early last Friday morning but have released few details since then, only telling inquiring reporters that the family of the victim asked for privacy.

Late Tuesday, the Adams County Chief Coroner identified the victim as Frank Licata, 61, of Lafayette and said the cause and manner of his death was under investigation.
