COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A 2-year-old girl who was reportedly taken by her non-custodial parent late Wednesday afternoon has been found.

Police said 26-year-old Kayla Nyquist (also known as Kayla Newcomer), who was described as a transient in the area, took 2-year-old Vinessa Nyquist from a home in the area of Starlight Circle and Moonbeam Drive sometime before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The woman was believed to be in the company of her boyfriend, 30-year-old Colorado Springs resident Joey Bobbitt.

Police said in a Facebook post they believed the group was traveling in a white, 1993 Toyota 4-Runner bearing Colorado license plate OYW-807.

At 2:43 a.m. Thursday the alert was canceled for the missing two-year old. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced Vinessa was located and safe.
