Man killed in stabbing; suspect in custody, Denver police say

DENVER – A man has been pronounced dead following a stabbing late Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department said.

The stabbing was reported near S. Knox Court and W. Ellsworth Ave. just before 4 p.m. Police said a man stabbed another. Details about what led to the stabbing were not immediately available.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but was declared dead just before 9:30 p.m. by Denver police via Twitter.

In that tweet, police also said a suspect was in custody and was being held for investigation of first-degree murder.

The homicide investigation is ongoing.
