LEADVILLE, Colo. — A preschool teacher with the Lake County School District has been arrested on suspicion of child sexual assault, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

Charges filed against Sally Glaser, 63, whose name was released by Leadville police, include sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, sexual assault on a child, unlawful sexual contact and child abuse, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The Lake County release did not include details as to what school the teacher was employed at, when the alleged assault occurred or when the teacher was arrested, stating “Since this involves a minor, care is being taken to protect such minor as well as to not harm the investigation.”

However, Denver7 has learned Glaser was arrested Monday, according to court documents. The alleged victim is a Lake County School District student, but it’s not clear if the victim was a preschool student.

Denver7 has reached out to the Lake County Sherriff’s Office for additional information but have yet to hear back.

In a letter to parents, the district said the teacher was charged Tuesday, but it too stopped short of identifying the suspect or providing additional details surrounding the alleged incident. The district said the teacher was placed on administrative leave and will not be allowed back on campus.

Glaser remains in the Lake County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
