ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. -- When a woman got robbed, two deputies used the "Find my iPhone" app to track down and arrest the robbery suspect.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said it got a call from a woman who said her mother, a widow and stroke survivor, had been robbed by a man with a green backpack.

The man took the woman's iPad.

"With the help of ‘find my iPhone’, Deputy Cho and Deputy Coster narrowed the robber’s location to an apartment building," the Adams County Sheriff's Office said.

Officials said the deputies went to the apartment where they thought the suspect might be.

"Two residents let them inside," according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office. "The residents said they were alone, but deputies heard rustling in a back room. They found a man hiding with a green backpack."

Deputies said they recovered the stolen iPad and several computer cases.

The suspect was arrested on outstanding warrants, deputies said.

Apple says the find my iphone app let's the owner see their missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac on a map. And with the lost mode feature, you can track where it’s been.
