Police: Driver in Aurora killed after crashing into tree; alcohol, speed could be factors

AURORA, Colo. – A person is dead and a woman is injured after the driver of the vehicle crashed into a tree in southeast Aurora early Saturday morning.

The crash was reported in the area of S. Ceylon way and E. Floyd Avenue at around 4:08 a.m., according to the Aurora Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, who was only identified as a woman, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for the police department said alcohol and speed are being investigated as factors in the deadly crash.
