EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – A couple found dead inside an El Paso County home early Saturday morning has been identified.

The bodies of Larry Nelson, 72, and Pamela Nelson, 70, were found just before 2 a.m. after deputies were dispatched to the 13500 block of Hobby Horse Lane to perform a welfare check on the couple.

It’s still not clear who or what prompted deputies to check on the well-being of the couple.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes unit is still investigating this case as a double homicide, but not many details regarding the case are available since this is still an ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s office reiterated Wednesday that there was no suspect information at this time but were still urging residents of the area to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.

Investigators ask that you to contact the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (719) 520-6666 if you see anything out of the ordinary or if you know something that could help in the investigation.
