WELD COUNTY, Colo. – Colorado authorities are searching for two children who were last seen Tuesday afternoon in northern Colorado, and who are believed to be in danger.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation sent out an endangered missing persons alert Wednesday afternoon for Samantha Gehrig, 7, and Jackson Gehrig, 3. The request was made by the Hudson Marshal’s Office – a small town in Weld County.
The two children are believed to be with Tiffany Morris, 24, who the Colorado Bureau of Investigation says is “a known drug user.”
Family members say tell Denver7 that Morris is the children's mother and that she recently lost a custody battle for the children.
Jackson is a white male who is 3-foot-5 and 40 pounds, with hazel eyes and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a blue coat and camouflage pants.
Samantha is a white female who is 4 feet tall and 45 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, pink shirt and black leggings.
Authorities say they don’t know what direction of travel the group was headed in as of Wednesday afternoon. Morris is described as 5-foot-3 and 105 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and black leggings.
Authorities have yet to release more information about the case, but ask anyone who sees the three to call the Weld County Regional Communication Center at 970-350-9600, option 4.
