Authorities discover 20 pounds of suspected meth, arrest 22-year-old in Westminster

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — One man was arrested when authorities discovered about 20 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in Adams County.

On Jan. 7, authorities arrested Fernando Arellano Villa-Gomez, 22, in Westminster, the Adams County Sheriff's Office said. While details weren't available, the sheriff's office said authorities recovered more than 20 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in connection to his arrest.

The arrest was the result of a collaborative effort by the Front Range Task Force, North Metro Drug Task Force, and Westminster Police Department.

Villa-Gomez faces the following charges:

  • Special Offender (Distribution of a Controlled Substance on or Near School Grounds), a level 1 drug felony
  • Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) in excess of 112 grams, a level 1 drug felony

He is being held at the Adams County Detention Facility.
