DENVER (AP) — Colorado authorities say police shot and killed an armed suspect at a strip mall in a Denver suburb after officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area.
The Northglenn Police Department said in a statement that the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene following the Saturday night altercation. The person’s name was not immediately released.
Authorities say Northglenn officers were contacted by officials in nearby Westminster at about 6 p.m. Saturday to advise they were looking for the suspect.
After a report of shots in the area, a Westminster police enforcement team and a special task force reportedly attempted contact with the suspect in front a cell phone store.
The suspect allegedly displayed a weapon and was shot by officers.
