LOVELAND, Colo. — An officer with the Loveland Police Department shot an armed robbery suspect Monday afternoon, police said.
The suspect was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, but is expected to survive. No officer was injured.
Around 4:40 p.m., the male suspect armed with a gun robbed a Subway restaurant located at 256 E. 29th Street, according to a department release.
Officers responding to the robbery call spotted the suspect near the intersection of N. Monroe and E. 29th Street. At that point, police said an officer fired their weapon at the suspect.
The officer that fired their weapon has not been identified. The officer will be placed on administrative leave with pay, which police say is standard in this type of incident.
Police declined to release any further information at this time, citing the ongoing investigation conducted by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The Loveland shooting occurred around the same time as an officer-involved shooting Lakewood.
