ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A clerk at a gas and food mart was injured in a Thursday morning shooting in Adams County.

Sgt. Jim Morgan with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said a shooting was reported around 6:15 a.m. at C&K Food and Gas, 5251 N. Pecos Street.

Morgan said two juvenile males, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, came into the store. One had a gun and it was discharged sometime during the teens’ robbery attempt, he said.

The store clerk was wounded, but their injures are not life-threatening, Morgan said.

It was unclear if the suspects had stolen anything from the store.

The two teens are described as Hispanic males. One was wearing a black hoodie.
