DENVER – Three people were injured after a white van came through a gate, striking pedestrians on the other side near the 16th Street Mall Sunday.

It happened at around 2:26 p.m. in the area of 15th and Stout Streets.

Denver Police Department spokesperson John White told Denver7 a van drove out of a parking garage and struck the pedestrians on the other side. Three people were taken to a hospital for treatment, with one possibly being treated for serious bodily injuries.

Investigators remained at the scene of the crash where they questioned the driver. It’s not clear if the driver of the van will be taken into custody.

White said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

RTD officials said police activity in the area was affecting the D, F and H lines.
