ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — One woman died in a police shooting in Adams County early Tuesday morning.
Sgt. Adam Sherman, a spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff's Office, said at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday, deputies with the sheriff's office located a stolen gray Jeep traveling westbound on Interstate 76 near E. 88th Avenue.
The deputies began to pursue the driver, but eventually lost sight of the vehicle, Sherman said.
They eventually found it again, abandoned, around E. 25th Avenue and Imboden Road.
Deputies searched the area and located two women — one of them was the suspect.
Sometime during this interaction, deputies learned that the suspect had a gun, and she was fatally shot, Sherman said.
Other details around the circumstances of the shooting were not available.
Investigators talked with witnesses and other involved people and deputies.
No other information was available as of early Tuesday morning.
