Soaring Eagles Elementary School is closing for the next four days after a positive COVID-19 test result was reported.

Harrison School District 2 says the school opened on Monday, August 17, for in-person and virtual learning.

The district will not release whether a student or staff member tested positive.

The school will be closed Friday, Aug. 21 and Monday, Aug. 25, for thorough cleaning.

D2 tells News5 the closure is out of an abundance of caution, and was not required by El Paso County Public Health.

The person who tested positive is not being identified, but anyone who had contact with them will be told to quarantine for 14 days.

The school will reopen on Tuesday.
