LONE TREE, Colo. — A store specifically selling essential items for dealing with the novel coronavirus, like masks and sanitizer, has opened in the Park Meadows Mall, aptly titled “COVID-19 Essentials.”
“People want it, they need it. They want better quality, nicer stuff to walk around with,“ owner Nathan Chen told Denver7.
The store opened Labor Day weekend, selling masks for comfort and for creativity, and business has been good ever since, according to the owner.
“Some of (the customers) are surprised it took this long, but they’re liking the idea and we’re getting a lot of positive feedback,” he said.
Among the items for sale? A small plastic insert for masks that create additional space allowing for breathing and speaking more clearly.
Customer Theorplus Bijou came into the store on Friday for a good reason.
“I need something to cover more of my face because my granddaughter loves to hug her granddad, so I want to make sure she’s safe," he said.
Other “COVID Essentials” stores have also opened in New York City, New Jersey, and Miami.
