The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said as of Thursday at 4 p.m., there have been 1,421 deaths among people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Of those, 1,168 deaths are due to COVID-19, according to the CDPHE.

5:15 p.m. | Polis extends certain executive orders
Gov. Jared Polis on Friday extended an executive order limiting evictions, foreclosures, and public utility disconnections and expediting unemployment insurance claim processing for 15 days.
Polis also extended an order directing the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) to provide additional funds to nursing homes and other congregate care facilities that care for vulnerable older and disabled populations.

The latest hospital data from the CDPHE shows 422 hospital beds in use by confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients — 42 fewer beds than reported on Thursday.
3:35 p.m. | Loveland extends hold on utility shut off, late fees
The City of Loveland is extending its moratorium on utility shut-offs and late fees for another month - through June 30 - "in light of continuing financial hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic," according to officials.
3:28 p.m. | Rep. Jason Crow secures $980,000 in Federal grants for Colorado's District 6 cities and counties
Today, Representative Jason Crow, who represents Colorado's 6th District, announced that cities and counties in that district have been awarded nearly $980,000 in federal grants to assist in its effort to contain, mitigate the spread of, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funding includes $580,000 for Aurora, $46,000 for Brighton, and $42,000 for Centennial as well as $153,000 for Adams County, $79,000 for Arapahoe County, and $79,000 for Douglas County.
6 a.m. | Townsquare Media's Taste of Fort Collins goes virtual for 2020
Organizers of this year's Taste of Fort Collins say they've moved on to Plan C.
The celebration of Northern Colorado food and entertainment is traditionally held in early June, but organizers moved it to late July during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now they've decided that instead of holding a big party in Washington Park in Fort Collins, they're going to move as much of the event as they can online on July 25. And this year's headliners, Collective Soul and Spin Doctors, have rescheduled their appearances for next summer.
5 a.m. | Safeway employee with positive COVID-19 case dies
A Safeway employee from Denver has recently passed away after testing positive for the novel coronavirus, according to a statement from Safeway. The person worked at the Safeway Distribution Center at 4600 E. Stapleton Drive.
"This was a long-time, well-respected associate who had many friends in our business," the statement reads. "Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts are with that individual’s family."
The person had not worked in the warehouse since April 17. Since then, the distribution center has undergone many cycles of cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting.
