As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 31,000 people in Colorado have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. About 5,270 people have been hospitalized for the virus.
Health officials say 1,667 people have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

12:30 p.m. | Colorado's Office of Emergency Management uses donated warehouse space for COVID-19 response efforts
The Colorado Office of Emergency Management announced Thursday morning that Prologis, Inc., a global logistics real estate leader, donated 64,491 square feet of warehouse space to the State Emergency Operations Center.
This space will be used for storage and distribution of critical personal protective equipment and other COVID-19 resources through the end of 2020.
This donation is valued at more than $304,720, according to the Colorado OEM.
7:30 a.m. | In Colorado, initial unemployment claims dip below 10,000 for first time in months
Today, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment reported that initial claims for regular unemployment fell below 10,000 for the first time in three months. Exactly 9,882 claims were filed through the week ending June 20. There were also 10,385 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) claims filed for the same week.
Over the past 14 weeks, a total of 466,645 regular unemployment initial claims have been filed. A grand total of 588,988 claims, including federal PUA benefits, were filed.
The department also announced it has paid out about $2.7 billion in unemployment benefits since March 29.
6:40 a.m. | New unemployment numbers from U.S. Department of Labor
The Department of Labor reported this morning that 1.5 million Americans filed initial claims for unemployment during the week ending June 20, bringing a 14-week total to about 46.5 million claims.
Thursday's figures were down about 20,000 from last week's unemployment filings. It marked the third straight week where unemployment claims have hovered at about 1.5 million.

3:35 p.m. | Colorado saw small uptick in coronavirus cases last week; officials closely monitoring ahead of holiday
Colorado’s state epidemiologist said Wednesday that health officials saw an increase in novel coronavirus cases last week over the week before, when they reached their lowest levels in months, and state officials said they are watching trends and being cautious as the U.S. heads into the Fourth of July holiday.
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment State Epidemiologist Dr. Rachel Herlihy said that while Colorado has “made tremendous progress” in its fight against the virus since case, hospitalization and death numbers peaked in mid-to-late April, they were still waiting to see if data from this week will continue to show an increase in cases here.
On the other hand, Gov. Jared Polis said that officials are still not sure the cause of the recent uptick in cases, but that he believed many of the cases came from larger gatherings. He said the state did not currently have data linking the protests in Colorado to the uptick in cases.
11:59 a.m. | City of Brighton will fund Fund bank of the Rockies Mobile Food Pantry in city this year
The City of Brighton will completely fund the Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Food Pantry in Brighton this summer.
This effort is in response to City Council’s request to use the CARES Act grant to keep food on the table for Brighton individuals and families who are currently struggling financially from the impacts of COVID-19, according to the city. The mobile food pantry will set up at Historic City Hall (located at 22 S. 4th Ave.) on the second Saturdays of the month — July 11, Aug. 8, and Sept. 12 — from 9-11 a.m.
10 a.m. | COVID-19 updates with Denver officials, Gov. Polis today
Denver officials, including Mayor Hancock, the public safety executive director and the emergency management executive director, will provide an update on the city's latest response to COVID-19 at 10:30 a.m.
And Gov. Polis and State Epidemiologist Dr. Rachel Herlihy will provide an update on the state's response to the coronavirus at 12:30 p.m.

4:14 p.m. | Eagle County sees increase in COVID-19 cases among the young
Eagle county health officials say they have seen a recent increase of COVID-19 cases among younger age groups and urge the public to continue to adhere to strict social distancing measures, as well proper hand washing and to not forget the use of face masks or coverings when out in public.
The county's department of public health and environment said in a news release it is investigating a cluster of cases mostly among local youth ages 16-18, "where the initial spread was associated with private social gatherings, resulting in 11 confirmed cases among young people in the Roaring Fork Valley."
Disease investigators said they've noted "an unwillingness among some infected individuals and families to isolate at home and share information about events where other people would have been exposed," information that is critical to mitigate the further spread of the new disease, officials said.
It's possible more cases will emerge in the coming days, officials said.

The Town Center at Aurora mall will reopen its 130 stores and kiosks to the public today.
