Coronavirus in Colorado: COVID-19 updates for Sept. 26-Oct. 2, 2022

More than 1,649,800 people in Colorado have tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 68,600 have been hospitalized as of Sunday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Friday, Sept. 30

Here's the latest COVID-19 data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

The latest hospital data, which the state is now updating only on Wednesdays, shows 171 beds in use by patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19, 26 more than a week ago. Colorado’s seven-day average positivity rate was 5.58%. The state’s goal is to remain below 5%.

As of Friday, 4,601,310 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine in Colorado and 4,138,915 have been fully vaccinated.

For the week ending Sept. 30, Colorado reported a total of 4,935 cases of the novel coronavirus, a decrease of 429 (-0.08%) from last week. The state's positivity rate went down by 0.18% from a week ago on Friday, to 5.58%.

The latest hospital data, which the state is now updating only on Wednesdays, shows 171 beds in use by patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19, 26 more than a week ago. Colorado’s seven-day average positivity rate was 5.51%. The state’s goal is to remain below 5%.

As of Thursday, 4,600,240 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine in Colorado and 4,138,021 have been fully vaccinated.

9:37 a.m. | CDPHE to send texts, email reminders to everyone 65 and older about the new omicron COVID-19 booster

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will start sending text and email reminders to Coloradans aged 65 and older about the availability of the bivalent BA.4/5 COVID-19 booster.

The text messages will originate from 45778 and read:

For the week ending Sept. 23, Colorado reported a total of 5,364 cases of the novel coronavirus, a decrease of 670 cases (-11.1%) from last week. The state's positivity rate went up by 0.56% from a week ago on Friday, to 5.76%
