Both counties are in Level 1 of the state's safer-at-home phase but a continued increase in cases could lead to a shift to Level 2 with restrictions that could impact capacities at restaurants, breweries, houses of worship and other places of public gatherings.

Larimer County has seen an uptick in cases since late September, with a "substantial" increase among people ages 18-24. Colorado State University has seen 167 positive cases among more than 20,000 university-conducted tests since mid-August, though daily case counts have increased in the last two weeks.

Arapahoe County has also had an uptick in the last two weeks, according to county data.
