More than 551,000 people in Colorado have tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 30,900 have been hospitalized as of Monday afternoon, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Friday, June 18
11 p.m. | CDPHE begins outbound call campaign to encourage vaccinations
Beginning Monday, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will be making outgoing calls to unvaccinated Coloradans 18 and up to provide information, answer questions and assist with scheduling appointments to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
The outbound call campaign is an effort to reach the state's goal of having 70% of Coloradans vaccinated with at least one dose by July 4.
The calls will be completed by COVAXCO, which is a call center that's been answering inbound calls about COVID-19 vaccination in Colorado. Information will be available in multiple languages.
Coloradans can continue to call the vaccine hotline 24/7 at 1-877-268-2926.
CDPHE will also be sending text messages and emails to Coloradans 18-29 years old who are overdue for their second COVID-19 vaccine. The text message will come from the number 45778 on June 22 and 25, and emails will come from the email address ColoradoDPHE@teletask.com on June 24.

3:45 p.m. | Denver Sheriff Department distributes more than 1,000 vaccines
Denver Health and the Denver Sheriff Department on Thursday announced they had distributed more than 1,000 vaccines to inmates in custody since March. Inmates can choose whether they want to receive the vaccine.
“It’s important to offer voluntary opportunities for people in custody to protect themselves against the COVID-19 virus,” Sheriff Elias Diggins said in a news release. “The vaccine is the best tool for this and we are encouraged that so many individuals have chosen to take it.”
