ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-- The Bhundaram boys may be small, but they have big hearts.

“We like helping people,” 10-year-old Kapil Bhandaram said. “We started a website because we wanted to help the elderly and vulnerable,” his 10-year-old brother Sunand, added.

So, putting their bright minds together, the boys built the Kids For Our Community website.

“It’s wonderful. I think that it’s a great experience for them and it’s a good way to spend their time now that school is closed,” their mother, Vidya Bhandaram, said.

The site has ways to help out, get help, and they've even put art, letters and videos to make it a true multimedia experience.

“We made a video that we can post on the website so people know how to make masks and we think that’ll help,” 6-year-old Rohan Bhandaram said.

On Wednesday, they started working on a new project for the site.

“Just now we interviewed the Arapahoe County Sheriff and tomorrow we’re going to interview an ER doctor,” Kapil said.

They also plan on interviewing other essential workers in the community.

“Essential workers are working hard, we should thank them,” Kapil added.

Their parents said they hope the website can also reach our most vulnerable Coloradans during this crisis.

“I hope for the boys to be able to send the website to a bunch of senior nursing homes as well as hospitals. I’m sure that it would be able to lift their spirits,” Vidya said.

The boys said the online project has undoubtedly become a family affair airmed at helping those fighting the pandemic and those who members of the community who are at greater risk of contracting the diseasea.

“Because we’re brothers and we just like to work together,” Rohan said. “We want to help the community because we want to stop the COVID-19."

A tall task, but the boys are here to help.
