WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- The wedding community is stepping in to help couples distraught by the closing of Noah's Event Venue in Westminster.
Many received an email last Friday without a warning that their event was canceled. The company filed for bankruptcy last year.
Sara Carr, the owner of the Chateaux at Fox Meadows, told Contact7 she read articles about several locations closing throughout the nation. It's why she said she reached out to the business and offered to help re-book brides.
"I never heard anything back," Carr said.
So, when she heard the Westminster location was closing, she got to work and posted on Facebook offering to help couples scrambling to find a new venue.
Cassie Ali booked her wedding at Noah's Event Venue in 2017. She was set to tie the knot in front of family and friends in April.
"Nine-thousand dollars is how much we lost," Ali said.
She's been waiting years for this day.
"I know it's one day, but it means so much to us," Ali said. "We waited so long."
Ali read online about the Chateaux at Fox Meadows offering to help brides and booked a tour.
"I was sad; we walked in, and it was just overwhelming," Ali said. "I was embarrassed, and I started crying."
She admits she didn't think the venue was in her budget, but she was surprised.
"Noah's took their money, and Noah's took their plans, but we didn't have to let them take this joyous wedding that she had in her mind," Carr said.
She said some brides were offered prices as low as $1,000.
"We are a family business. We do this because we love, love, and we love couples, and we know what this means, and we really want to help," Carr said.
She said while wedding location tours are meant to be exciting, many of the brides who scheduled at Noah's were in tears during their visit.
"Everybody was crying, everybody was upset, everybody was like, 'We don't even want to do it anymore,'" Carr said.
Nearly 20 brides who booked at Noah's booked at the Chateaux at Fox Meadows, including Cassie.
"Everything has been tailored…just to make the transition smooth," Ali said.
Ali's wedding is now two weeks earlier than planned. She said several vendors also reached out to help.
"It just means everything to us because even the smallest gesture makes a difference to us," Ali said.
She's now reminding brides that there is hope.
"Don't let them take away your day," Ali said. "We had to change our venue. We changed our date, but it's still our moment."
