THORNTON, Colo. -- The home the Grabau family has lived in for two decades has become a nightmare for them filled with construction.
They say they decided to remodel their home instead of moving to a new one and hired D&G Construction to do the job.
The project began in September and since then, Kim Grabau says the work is anything but complete.
"I want to walk into my home and love it, and right now I’m just not feeling it," she said.
Owner of D&G Construction, Gina Dinkel, says their job is complete, that they did nothing wrong and that the city project received final inspection from city officials.
"Your project is complete and you do have some warranty work and we’d be happy to do that with you but because your city permit has closed and your project is done, you do owe the balance of your contract," Dinkel said.
So far, the Grabaus have paid about $60,000 and the remaining balance is $4,000.
In order to move forward with repairs, Dinkel said payment is needed.
Currently, both parties are speaking in order to figure out a resolution. Contact7 will keep you updated with the result.
